Joe Ferro

Joe Ferro — President and Chief Executive Officer
Joe Ferro founded the company in December of 1998. While Mr. Ferro was working as a hospital revenue cycle consultant, ClaimTrust started as a conversation between Mr. Ferro and his wife Kathy, a healthcare software developer. Together they pioneered web-based automated claims and coding compliance, which is now widely accepted in the healthcare industry. Prior to ClaimTrust, Mr. Ferro worked for QuadraMed, Zimmerman & Associates, Inc., and Health Communication Services, a division of Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Mr. Ferro received his B.B.A. in economics from Middle Tennessee State University.

Karen Bowden

Karen Bowden RHIA — President of Consulting
During her 25 years of Hospital Administrative experience, Ms. Bowden has managed fiscal and clinical operations in large academic teaching facilities in Pittsburgh and Boston. In early 2001, Ms. Bowden began Revenue Enhancement Strategies, Inc. and earned regional recognition as an expert in finding sources of untapped revenue. Ms. Bowden has developed and implemented denial management systems to track, report, prevent and appeal denied claims. Her expert knowledge of payer systems gives Ms. Bowden and ClaimTrust, Inc. the leading edge in implementing successful strategies that decrease denied claims and increase net revenue. Ms. Bowden is a regular speaker at the Massachusetts Hospital Association, HFMA and MAPAM. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Health Records Administration.

Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson — Vice President of Product Marketing and Development
Mr. Johnson has 20 years of experience in healthcare information technology management. Experienced at working with integrated delivery networks, hospitals, physician practices, payors and healthcare information technology vendors, he has the breadth of knowledge to understand the challenges faced in highly complex interdependent healthcare systems. As Director of Information Services and later Regional Information Officer at an integrated delivery network, Mr. Johnson successfully completed several large-scale financial and clinical system projects. He has held positions as VP of Product Development, VP of Product Management and General Manager of a business unit of a major Healthcare Information Technology Vendor. At Revenue Enhancement Strategies, Inc. he brought to market the successful Denials Guru product. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Westfield State College.

Mary Guarino

Mary Guarino — Vice President of Regulatory
Mary Guarino has over 28 years of professional healthcare experience. Her expertise includes revenue cycle management, managed care contracting, physician practice management, uncompensated care reimbursement, Medicare regulations and extensive chargemaster knowledge. Her achievements at several hospitals include reducing out patient denials by 40% and increasing net revenue by millions of dollars for services previously not identified. Mary holds a B.A. from UMass and has completed business courses towards an MBA at Northeastern University. Mary is an active member of both HFMA and MAPAM.

Rich Rizza

Richard Rizza — Vice President of Finance
Mr. Rizza has been working with ClaimTrust as a consultant since 2006. During that time he has assisted the company in developing business relations, assisted the CEO and the board in developing financial reports, forecasts and potential acquisitions. This ongoing relationship resulted in his accepting the Vice President of Finance position in 2008. Mr. Rizza has a BS in accounting from Northeastern University and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Before his engagement with ClaimTrust, Mr. Rizza worked as a consultant with various healthcare clients to provide financial and reimbursement support. Mr. Rizza has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience primarily in the healthcare industry where he has served in various senior management positions with his most recent being the Chief Financial Office of Salem Hospital, a 400 bed teaching facility north of Boston and a member of the Partners Healthcare System.

Jay Roche

Jay Roche — Vice President of Sales
Mr. Roche has over 25 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry. He has extensive experience in selling and managing teams that have sold everything from —PACS, CPOE, Clinical Documentation, Revenue Cycle management, Resource management, to web portals for doctors and healthplans. Previously, he spent 15 years at McKesson/HBOC as a Regional Vice President primarily selling hospital and payer technology, and he also has over 10 years of experience in product management and decision support for Global Software. Mr. Roche graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Political Science.

Shayne Langford

Shayne Langford — Vice President of IT Operations
Mr. Langford is an award-winning leader with over 10 years experience creating successful technological procedures and developing systems solutions strategies across a wide range of industries. As Vice President of IT Operations, he is focused on enhancing ClaimTrust’s client base as well as improving system reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance. Before joining ClaimTrust in 2008, Mr. Langford was Director of IT operations at Spheris, a medical transcription and dictation company serving over 500 healthcare facilities in the US. Mr. Langford received his BS in Physics from Southern Polytechnic State University.

Jeff Bailey

Jeff Bailey — Vice President of Client Services
A process-focused leader of both technical project and service call center teams, Jeff Bailey delivers the high-quality, personalized service that ClaimTrust is known for in the healthcare revenue cycle industry. Previously he was the VP of Operations for the provider-side of Emdeon Business Services where he was responsible for product implementation, account management, and support. Mr. Bailey also has 20 years of change management experience in multiple senior leadership roles for telecommunications giant LM Ericsson Inc. and for financial services leader Comdata/Ceridian. He is a certified HIPAA Security Professional (CSHP), on the Board of Examiners for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Mr. Bailey received his B.S. from Vanderbilt University.
